Dasha Calculator
Your Vimshottari Mahadasha and Antardasha timeline, with the periods running today.
How it works
We find the Moon's sidereal longitude at birth, identify its Nakshatra and the fraction already travelled, and count the remaining balance of the first Mahadasha. Later periods follow in Vimshottari order with their fixed lengths.
Questions
What is the Vimshottari Dasha?
A 120-year cycle of planetary periods: Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19 and Mercury 17 years. Each Mahadasha is split into nine Antardashas in the same order.
How is the starting Dasha decided?
By the Moon's Nakshatra at birth. Its lord rules the first Mahadasha, and the portion of the Nakshatra the Moon has yet to cross sets how much of that period remains.
How precise are the dates?
They depend on the Moon's exact degree. A birth time that is off by an hour moves the Moon about half a degree, which can shift period dates by several months.
